We're getting ready for the big show Saturday September 7th Clairton Park. I'll be celebrating 60 years in the business as Chuck Corby. This Saturday will be extra special for me because it was about 60 years ago that Eddie Holman and I worked together for the first time. I had a record entitled Man Loves Two which was riding high on R&B charts. At that time Eddie Holman had a hit record on the chart entitled This Can't Be True. We were performing at the WAMO Soul Picnic in Pittsburgh's South Park. This was the greatest experience of my career. Until that time WAMO had thought I was a black artist from Los Angeles. So we didn't know what to expect from the all-black audience of a couple thousand people. I must say, it was the best decision I made in my career. My manager and record producer did not want me to do the show. They worried if folks found out I was white that they would pull my record off the air. I told them music has no color and I'm doing the show; I am who I am. They were wrong, and the station continued to play my record, and instead of being pulled from the charts it went up on the charts and made it into the top 10 which was unheard of back then. One more thing that I'll never forget (I'm going to ask Eddie if he remembers this): We both had burgundy shark-skin suits on that day LOL. I hope you can join us this Saturday, September 7th. It's going to be a great show for a great cause for our Veterans. Let's not forget the other great acts joining us for this show:

Pure Gold
The Holidays
